London's craft beer scene is one of the best in the world, and a brewery tour is the tastiest way into it. Whether you want a behind-the-scenes look at a single brewhouse or a guided crawl through a whole district of taprooms, here are the best brewery tours in London for 2026 โ starting, unashamedly, with our own โ plus advice on what to expect and how to choose the right one.
1. The Bermondsey Beer Mile Tour
Our guided Bermondsey Beer Mile Tour (12โ6pm, ยฃ79, beer included) visits six independent taprooms in the railway arches of South East London with a local guide who explains the brewing as you go. You'll handle fresh hops and malt, learn how different styles are made and taste your way across the Mile in the right order. Add a morning heritage walk and an evening cheese, meat & beer tasting to make a full day. We've been running since 2014 with 5+ TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence โ and it's our pick for groups, dates and visitors who want breadth, not just one brewery.
2. Camden Town Brewery
A slick, high-energy tour in North London with tutored tastings and a buzzy taproom beneath the railway arches in Camden. It's polished and beginner-friendly โ a great first brewery visit if you're new to craft beer, and easy to combine with a day around Camden Market.
3. Fuller's โ the Griffin Brewery, Chiswick
For history buffs, Fuller's offers one of London's most storied brewing sites, with a classic guided tour through a working brewery and a cask ale to finish. It's a more traditional, heritage-focused experience than the modern craft taprooms, and a lovely contrast to the Beer Mile.
4. Beavertown
One of London's best-known modern breweries, Beavertown's Tottenham home runs lively taproom sessions and events showcasing its colourful, hop-forward range. Great for fans of bold, contemporary beer and striking can art.
5. Brick Brewery, Peckham
South London's Brick Brewery has a popular Peckham taproom and is a key part of the capital's craft scene โ a good shout if you're exploring beyond Bermondsey and want to see another corner of London beer.
6. Other London breweries worth a visit
The capital is full of brilliant producers with taprooms and occasional tours, including Five Points, Pressure Drop, Gipsy Hill, Forest Road, Signature and the many breweries of the Bermondsey Beer Mile itself. London has well over a hundred independent breweries โ see our roundup of the best breweries on the Beer Mile for the most concentrated hit.
What actually happens on a brewery tour?
A single-brewery tour usually walks you through the brewhouse and the brewing process โ mashing, boiling, fermenting and packaging โ often with a few tasters along the way and a full pour at the end. A guided crawl, by contrast, spends less time on machinery and more on tasting across multiple breweries, with a guide providing the context. Both typically last two to four hours; ours runs a full six.
Single brewery vs a guided beer crawl
There are really two kinds of brewery tour, and they suit different days out:
- A single-brewery tour shows you one operation in depth โ the brewhouse, the process and the story of that brand. Ideal if you want to understand how beer is made start to finish.
- A guided crawl like the Bermondsey Beer Mile shows you the breadth of the scene โ multiple breweries, styles and stories in a single afternoon. It's more sociable, more varied and, for most groups, more fun.
If you're entertaining visitors, planning a birthday or just want the best of London craft in one go, a guided crawl usually wins.
How to choose the right brewery tour
- Group size: bigger groups are better suited to a walkable crawl than a fixed brewhouse tour. We host private groups of 6 to 60+.
- Is beer included? Check whether tastings are part of the price or extra โ ours includes a beer at every stop.
- Location: Bermondsey is central and packs the most breweries into the smallest area.
- The guide: a good guide turns a pub crawl into an experience โ banter, knowledge and the inside track on what to drink.
- Reviews: look for consistent recent reviews; we're proud of our 5+ TripAdvisor Certificates of Excellence.
When to book
Weekend tours and any group booking sell out, especially in summer and around Christmas, so book ahead. Midweek can be quieter and more flexible. Individual brewery taprooms can usually be visited without booking on their open days, but guided tours should always be reserved in advance.
Planning a group, stag or hen?
Brewery tours make superb group days out. Stag dos, hen parties and work socials are our speciality โ see private & group tours and our stag & hen do ideas, or read the Beer Mile route guide to plan it yourself.
Good to know before you go
- Eat first (and during): a guided day involves several beers โ line your stomach and keep snacking.
- Wear comfortable shoes: you'll be on your feet and walking between venues.
- Bring ID: it's an over-18s activity and you may be asked to prove your age.
- Pace yourself: drink in thirds and halves so you enjoy the whole day.
- Check what's included: ours includes beer at every stop; some tours charge for drinks separately.
Make a full day of it
The best brewery days aren't just about the beer.
